Planet Hollywood Cap'n Crunch Chicken Fingers with Mustard Dipping Sauce
Here 's the recipie for that Cap'n crunch chicken. Check out Jen's recipie (click logo) for a great Asian Citrus Salad (yum!)Both of these could easily be $5 meals (HELLO!) if you buy your chicken on sale, and if you have a stock of some spices. If you don't have Cap'n crunch.... you can substitute. Pick something with a little bit of sweetness.
The original recipie for this is a family favorite-- but it calls for so many spices that it's not very frugal! I've changed it a bit, to make it budget friendly too.
You need:
2 cups crushed Cap'n crunch. I've also tried other puffy cereals with good results.
1.5 cups flour (i like to mix in some onion, garlic powder and pepper)
1 cup milk
1 egg (beaten, and added to milk)
1-2 pounds of chicken tenders or strips
hot oil, about 1/2" deep in fryer (or deep fryer.)
Dip the chicken in the milk, then dredge in the flour.
Then Re-dip the chicken in the milk, then dredge in crushed Cap'n crunch.
Set chicken aside on plate and prepare a plate with towels.
Fry chicken in oil for a few minutes, until coating is golden.
Yummy!
For mustard dip- mix
honey dijon mustard (1/4 cup)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
dash of worcestershire sauce
Mix these together and serve with strips for dipping.
